At the age of 76 I set out to walk the Camino de Santiago across northern Spain.
Along the way I discovered that age is not a barrier to adventure, growth or personal achievement. Every step brought new experiences, challenges as well as moments of quiet reflection.
My journey covered more than 800 kilometres across Spain, following the historic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. The experience inspired me to write I Walk Alone, sharing the highs, lows and unexpected encounters that shaped this remarkable adventure.
Through my writing I hope to encourage others to embrace life’s challenges, follow their dreams and never underestimate what can be achieved with determination and courage.
What began as a personal challenge soon became a journey of resilience, self-discovery and unexpected transformation. Along the way I encountered extraordinary kindness, difficult challenges and lessons that would change my outlook on life forever
Thank you for visiting my website and for sharing part of this journey with me.
ESSENTIAL PACKING LIST ITEM.
One Survival Blanket (the silver foil ‘blanket they wrap around the competitors of Marathons at the finish line) this is ESSENTIAL. It weighs nothing and as you are crossing mountainous ranges cold can be an issue even in summer!

A memorable Camino moment with my friend Manolo at Oncino,
– having several red wines I deftly ‘murdered his song’ and he works out what my translation does to it! This evenings impromptu hilarious moment was captured by a fellow pilgrim Anne from Windsor, who uploaded it which brought me comments the next day on the trail of “I know you I saw you on-line!”
